Transition from school to college

As well as applauding a year of achievements, Celebrating Success Day also focuses on next steps. Four of the pupils were presented with Transition awards in recognition of their efforts in planning their transition from school to college.

Ruairidh left school last year but stayed on at Falkland House School to receive the support required to help him through his NC Creative Digital Industries course. He has done remarkably well. He completed the course successfully at the end of this session and is considering further study at Edinburgh College.

Joe H. has displayed marvellous courage and determination in completing his school year despite having to undergo a series of arduous hospital procedures. Undaunted, he competed for, and won, a place at Fife College to study a Construction Futures NC. He will remain at the school for study support but Joe’s ambition is to press on with the course and to try and obtain an apprenticeship in bricklaying next year.

Joe R. did extremely well this year to achieve the qualifications for entry into the NC Construction at Forth Valley College. He has long harboured a desire to train as a plumber and this course should provide him with the appropriate background to commence his apprenticeship. Fortunately, the college is very close to his home, and he will remain with us for study support throughout the duration of his course next session.

Kieran leaves school at the end of this term to pursue his long-term ambition to work in the fitness industry.

FHS wishes them the best of luck in their future endeavours.
